Execute Query arose from the need to provide some common graphical interface to the myriad of database products available today.
Initial development began when testing development software against various database products where there was a need to view, verify or change data within database tables.
Switching between tools shipped with popular databases proved frustrating as the jump was made between graphical interfaces provided with some, to command line interfaces provided by others with no common and simple view of the data being queried.
From a simple development tool providing little more than query results, Execute Query grew to provide a number of useful functions for use with different database products within different environments thanks to the use of Java's JDBC technologies.
Although still very much a work in progress, the latest version continues to improve on the last with new features and enhancements. Developer support has been fantastic with the number of major code contributions increasing. If you have something to offer, please drop me an email and get involved.
Execute Query is and will remain free software released under the GNU Public License.
